1000th homebuyers at New Lubbesthorpe development are parents of the very first buyer onsite

Four weeks ago, the 1000th home at New Lubbesthorpe was moved into – by the parents of the very first buyer onsite.

Pravin (76) and Chandrika (66) Raval moved into their new Davidsons home, just around the corner from where their son Bobby (44) and daughter-in-law Pardeep (43) bought the very first home on the site nearly seven years ago.

Bobby and Pardeep, along with their children, have seen the development change from a construction site to a flourishing community over the past few years, and knew it was time for Bobby’s parents to move nearby when Pravin suffered from some recent ill health.

Chandrika said: “We moved into our new Davidsons home about a month ago, and we really love it. Considering we moved from a different area, West Bromwich, we’ve settled in well and it’s lovely to be near Bobby, Pardeep and our grandchildren.”

Bobby said: “We had been visiting mum and dad every week and travelling an hour and a half each way, so it’s so good to have them closer now. It was a really easy decision to recommend Davidsons Homes to them as the best option. We had such a fantastic experience buying with them seven years ago, and since then have seen New Lubbesthorpe become a wonderful new community. Mum and dad have had a similarly brilliant experience, I honestly can’t fault Davidsons.

“Our sales manager Emma was the reason we bought with Davidsons, and we thought she couldn’t be bettered, but mum and dad had just as good an experience with their sales manager Amanda.”

Chandrika said: “We love our new bungalow. It’s in a really quiet area and close to countryside walks and lots of fresh air. It’s also close to Leicester city centre too, and it’s easy to jump on the bus and get to shops quickly.

“Having come from a traditional home to a bungalow has been fantastic for us and our needs. The room and the space that an open-plan living and kitchen area brings has been wonderful, and the biggest advantage is the greenery, open space and beautiful scenery all year round, right outside our property.”

Bobby said: “With us being the very first people living here, and mum and dad being the 1000th, it feels like quite a special thing. It’s such a lovely community here and we’re very proud to be part of it.”

New Lubbesthorpe is a pioneering new community set in 325 acres of new parklands and wetlands, south of Leicester Forest East. With 1000 of the 4,250 homes so far been built and occupied and a primary school welcoming children, work has also started on the Local Centre which will include a care home, medical and retail building with a convenience store, local shops and a café bistro.

The development is being delivered by The Drummond Trust. Martin Ward, a trustee of the Drummond Estate, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome our 1000th home occupants and I’m delighted to see that it’s a couple whose family is so settled in this thriving new community. It is fast growing and our residents will be delighted to see that work has commenced on the care home and soon the local centre which will provide lots of new facilities.”
